I'm Jurate Barkauskaite form Lithuania. I have been working as research intern since July 2001 for Dr. John Capece at Southern DataStream, Inc.- provider of agricultural engineering, water management, and water quality services.  Southern DataStream specializes in hydrological monitoring equipment, BMP research, data collection, and results analysis.

 

During my internship I was assigned to a cooperative project with Florida Department of Environmental Protection, South Florida Water Management District, and University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences. Project Title: Optimization of Best Management Practice for Beef Cattle Ranching in the Lake Okeechobee Basin. Responsibilities include the data entry and analysis; creating statistical spreadsheets and analyzing results; QA/QC review of water quality and other data sets; organizing, summarizing and preparing data reports. This internship has given me an opportunity to experience and enjoy the challenge of working in the American engineering field and to conceptualize my careers goal's.  

            Also I met a lot of good people from different countries and made beautiful friendships, learned about different cultures, religions, and manners.
