I am an enthusiastic, highly self–motivated and stable minded individual, capable of independent work with little or no supervision in a competitive and challenging environment. I am trustworthy, adaptable and reliable, able to offer reasoned and unbiased value judgment, with great precision and accuracy where quantitative measures become hardly applicable. I am also resilient and persevering under trying conditions, when the odds seem to take control of events. I possess many skills including but not limited to: communication, managerial, problem solving, computer literacy  (operating systems, SPSS and other software/applications) and excellent quantitative/analytical skills.

B. Academic Background:

v   M.Phil. Degree, in Environmental Sciences (University of Ghana).

A rigorous multidisciplinary research degree that equips scientists with the knowledge needed to support the assessment, maintenance and recovery of environmental resources. This includes an appreciation of the economic, social, political, cultural and legislative context, which shapes our interaction with, and knowledge of the environment.

The concept of developing a balance between environmental protection and maintaining economic growth while placing emphasis on the strategies, problem solving skills and mastery of innovative scientific research techniques, including advocacy and Economic development planning, employing Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). Population growth and environmental resource-related issues are stressed. 

v     BSc (Hons) Degree in Biological sciences with a concentration in Zoology (University of Ghana).

v   EXPERTISE:

·        Policy formulation and development of MSW management strategies in low-income economies including both urban and peri-urban environmental sanitation.

·        Developments of techniques for efficient and sound water resources management including safe delivery in rural communities.

·        Watershed protection and biodiversity/Environmental resources conservation using economic valuation.

C. Professional Experience:

  v Intern/Environmental Engineer  (2000/2001) :- Southern DataStream Inc. LaBelle, Florida (USA)

v     Resident intern for Sub – Saharan Africa (August 1999 -); Horizon Communications Inc.  Based at Yale University in the United States and in Sweden with an office and substantial faculty involvement at Harvard University. Bases are being established around the world.

Responsibilities:  Duties include publicity and advertising the Solutions Site. Writing case studies on positive research initiatives to the Solutions Site and aiding Scientists to submit their case studies directly to the Solutions Site. Organizing Seminars and Conferences relating to the Solutions Site.

v     Teaching / Research Assistant (July 1997 – Dec 1998) – University of Ghana in the department of Zoology.

Duties / Responsibilities: Holding tutorials, laboratory demonstratorship, marking of scripts and lab work, environmental remediation research to mitigate the post-damming adverse impact on the environment at the Lower Volta Basin.

v      Project officer, Ghana United Nations (1996 – 1997) (GUNA), University of Ghana.

Responsibilities: correspondences and co-ordination between our local branch and other branches within the country and abroad, co-ordination between our branch and the various united nations bodies in the country including internship search and placement for our members.

v District Electoral Officer; Interim National Electoral commission (INEC), Tamale
